Our investment casting workflow emphasizes precision, repeatability, and cost-effective production.
Proactive DFM & Precision Tooling
Before any tooling begins, our engineers conduct a rigorous DFM review. We optimize draft angles, wall thicknesses, and gating systems to eliminate potential risks of shrinkage or porosity early. This proactive approach guarantees a stable, high-yield production run from day one.
Strictly Controlled Casting Process
We leave nothing to chance. From slurry consistency to precise shell preheating and molten metal temperatures, every variable is strictly monitored. This controlled environment ensures superior metallurgical integrity and a flawless surface finish for your most critical components.
Near-Net Shape & In-House Machining
Our casting process achieves near-net shapes that drastically reduce the need for rough machining. For tight-tolerance requirements, our integrated in-house CNC machining capabilities deliver fully finished, assembly-ready parts, saving you the hassle of managing multiple vendors.

What is Investment Casting?
Investment Casting (also known as lost-wax casting) is a precision manufacturing process capable of producing complex metal parts with an exceptional as-cast surface finish. It enables near-net-shape production—including thin walls, complex internal passages, and fine details. The process begins by injecting wax into precision molds to create a model of the final part. These wax models are assembled onto a central pouring system (known as a wax “tree”) and repeatedly dipped into a specially formulated ceramic slurry. This process is carefully repeated until a thick, durable ceramic shell forms around the wax models.
Once the ceramic shell has fully cured, the wax patterns are melted away, leaving a perfectly shaped hollow cavity. Molten metal is then poured into this shell under strictly controlled thermal conditions to prevent internal porosity. After the metal solidifies, the ceramic shell is broken open (demolding), revealing a high-precision, structurally sound metal component ready for final inspection.
Compared to processes such as sand casting, it is more time-consuming and costly; therefore, it offers the best value for money when producing parts with complex geometries.

When to use Investment Casting?
Investment Casting FAQ
Investment casting is the ultimate solution for reducing total manufacturing costs on complex parts. It provides near-net shapes with exceptional surface finishes (Ra 3.2-6.3 μm) and tight tolerances, which drastically reduces or eliminates the need for costly secondary CNC machining. It’s especially cost-effective for hard-to-machine alloys like stainless steel.
We specialize in a wide range of ferrous alloys, with a strong focus on Stainless Steel (e.g., 304, 316, 17-4PH), Carbon Steel, and Alloy Steels. Beyond just pouring metal, we provide full material traceability and chemical composition certifications (verified by our in-house spectrometers) for every single batch to ensure strict compliance with your industry standards.
Our standard investment casting tolerances fall within the ISO 8062 CT5 to CT7 range. However, precision is not just about standards; it’s about execution. Our engineering team performs rigorous DFM analysis on your drawings to optimize shrinkage rates, and we verify all critical dimensions with advanced CMM equipment to ensure batch-to-batch repeatability.
While investment casting requires upfront tooling (molds), it becomes highly economical for medium- to high-volume production due to minimal per-part labor and material waste. For low-volume validation, our engineers can assist you in evaluating whether CNC machining might be a faster, tooling-free alternative before you scale up to mass production.
