Our Expertise of Ducitle Iron Casting Parts

We specialize in producing ductile iron castings (QT / DI / GJS grades, such as 400–18, 450–10, 500–7, and 600–3) for applications that require high tensile strength, impact toughness, fatigue resistance, and long-term structural durability. Compared with grey iron, ductile iron provides superior elastic deformation capacity and crack-resistance performance, making it suitable for load-bearing and safety-critical components.

By combining resin-sand casting, controlled nodularization treatment, and solidification simulation, we ensure stable nodularity, graphite sphere morphology, and matrix consistency across production batches. Typical applications include automotive suspension and chassis parts, pump & valve bodies, off-road and agricultural machinery, hydraulic components, pressure-bearing housings, and industrial connection hardware.

Our Manufacturing Approach

To ensure consistent casting quality, we've broken down “control” into tangible data and processes: material batch traceability, comprehensive casting parameter logging, pre-production simulation validation, and digital verification for every batch inspection—replacing reliance on master craftsmen's intuition.

Charge Material & Melt Treatment Control

We perform spectral analysis on charge materials and adjust the levels of C, Si, Mn, Mg, and S to achieve the target nodularity and matrix structure.

Through nodularization (Mg treatment) and inoculation, we prevent issues such as poor spheroidization, carbides, and brittleness, ensuring the stable graphite sphere morphology required for ductile iron grades, including 400–18, 450–10, 500–7, and 600–3.

Engineering Design of Mold & Feeding Systems

We use flow and solidification simulation to optimize gating, risers, chills, and feeding paths, minimizing shrinkage pores, cold shuts, and microstructural inconsistencies.

Riser compensation and cooling control are designed based on wall-thickness transitions, stress concentration points, and expected load-bearing zones of the casting.

Heat Treatment for Mechanical Property Optimization

Depending on application requirements, ductile iron castings may undergo:

Normalizing → refine pearlite/ferrite distribution, stabilize mechanical properties. Quenching + Tempering → higher strength and toughness for safety-critical parts. Stress relief → stabilize dimensional accuracy for machining or assembly

Precision Machining & Quality Inspection

CNC machining achieves a dimensional accuracy of ±0.05–0.1 mm, as verified by CMM measurement. Surface roughness typically ranges from Ra 3.2 to 6.3 μm, depending on the casting grade and machining depth. Inspection options include: UT, MT, hardness testing, tensile testing, impact testing, microstructure (nodularity & matrix) analysis, and ensuring compliance with ASTM A536 / EN-GJS specifications.

What are the Advantages of Ducitle Iron Casting Parts ?

  • High Strength + Toughness Alternative to Steel Ductile iron delivers a balanced combination of tensile strength, elongation, and impact resistance, making it suitable for load-bearing and safety-critical components while remaining more cost-efficient than forged or machined steel parts.
  • Excellent Fatigue Resistance for Dynamic Loads The spheroidal graphite structure absorbs stress and delays crack initiation, offering longer fatigue life under cyclic and shock-load conditions compared with grey iron or low-grade cast steel.
  • Good Machinability with Stable Dimensional Results Controlled pearlite/ferrite microstructure ensures predictable machining behavior, reduced tool wear, and stable tolerance achievement for precision assembly parts.
  • Ideal for Pressure-Bearing and Structural Applications Used extensively in valves, pump bodies, suspension components, hydraulic housings, transmission parts, brackets, and off-road machinery, where strength, toughness, and durability outweigh corrosion-only considerations.

Suppose you're unsure whether ductile iron is suitable for your part. In that case, we can evaluate load conditions, stress concentration areas, and required mechanical properties through early-stage manufacturability and material selection support.
